Competing Risks: Aalen–Johansen Methods and Gray’s Test Now Integrated into EasyMedStat

Features designed for more reliable results and better suited reports for clinical research.

Aalen-Johanesen analysis dashboard, competing risks

Discover two major new features in EasyMedStat that strengthen your survival analyses and group comparisons. These tools, available starting today, meet the concrete needs of clinical researchers for  more accurate and realistic results.

Competing Risks: More realistic survival analyses

Traditional
survival analysis  often assumes a single event of interest. But in practice, multiple competing events may occur and prevent the main event (death from another cause, study drop-out, graft, …).  EasyMedStat now introduces competing risks into its survival analyses.

The key new features:

  • You can  select multiple variables  as competing events in the “Analysis options and censoring” section.
  • The  Aalen–Johansen method  to estimate realistic cumulative incidence probabilities.
  • Gray’s test  to compare cumulative incidence functions between groups.
  • These tools are available for univariate and bivariate analyses , making your competing-risks survival analyses consistent with the most demanding academic standards.

Compare groups: optimized exports and selection

The “Compare Groups” feature has been enriched with three essential improvements for your everyday analyses:

A “All patients” column in exports: adds a synthetic column aggregating all patients in your result tables, perfect for multicenter reports.

Choice of dispersion indicators:  select precisely which measures to display, mean, standard deviation, median, IQR, min/max, etc. Customize your exports according to your analytic needs.

Improved variable selector (View Picker):  entire variables or categories can be selected in one click. This saves considerable time for large databases.

Why these updates change your clinical research

These two functionalities directly address the challenges of survival analyses with competing risks and complex group comparisons:

  • Realistic probabilities  : elimination of the bias caused by hidden competing events.
  • Publication‑ready exports : customized tables, ready for scientific journal requirements.
  • Time savings : intuitive selection, optimized exports, faster analyses.

Test these new features on your data  to see how they transform your survival analyses and group comparisons!
